Hello, I’m Nadya

Curiosity has been a daily fuel for as long as I can remember. The kind that sends you to the library at fourteen to borrow Nelson Mandela’s biography for no other reason than the need to understand what made him great. The same kind that doesn’t always wait to be assigned a topic, which means there’s almost always a podcast running, a news cycle I’m dissecting, a research paper I’m fascinated by and a book I’m halfway through (I discovered only recently it’s called hypercuriosity, and it turns out my neurodivergent brain is the culprit!).

The same curiosity, coupled with an adventurous spirit, took me out of the comfort zone of my formative years in France and led me to call London and then Dubai home for many years. Venturing out abroad nurtured my insatiable thirst for discoveries of all kinds and human connection.

A long stretch of that time was spent working on the commercial side of science publishing. That stretch left a mark: you develop a certain relationship with evidence, with how knowledge is built and validated, and with what it means for something to actually hold up. Hypercuriosity does the rest: pulling me into rabbit holes I don’t always intend to enter but seldom regret! And I wouldn’t have it any other way because Even-Keeled is where much of that lands.

I write mostly essays grounded in lived experience, many of which engage with research. My reflections explore the systems and stories shaping how we navigate the world – internal and external – and the status quo we’re meant to just accept.
